Türksat A.Ş. formed a strategic partnership with the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) to organize an event, including a fair and conference program, under the title "Türksat Satellite, Space, and Technology Days."
The event protocol, for the first edition to be held on December 11-12, 2015, was signed by Türksat General Manager Prof. Dr. Ensar Gül and MÜSİAD President Nail Olpak at the Eurasiasat building of Türksat's Gölbaşı Campus.
Speaking at the protocol signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Gül expressed his wish for the event, organized together with MÜSİAD, to be beneficial, saying, "We expect businessmen to invest in high-tech fields. By closing this gap, Turkey will make significant progress. Therefore, the Satellite and Space Technology Days we will organize are highly important."
Prof. Dr. Gül emphasized that Turkey is now considered among newly industrialized countries, saying, "Thirty years ago, we couldn’t even produce a pin; now, many industrial products can be manufactured in Turkey."
He noted some gaps in fields requiring advanced technology, such as satellites, space, and IT, emphasizing that closing this gap would enable Turkey to make substantial progress.
“We will do our part regarding the event”
Speaking at the protocol signing ceremony, Olpak stated that the Türksat Satellite, Space, and Technology Days would take place on December 11-12 in Istanbul, and he affirmed that MÜSİAD would fulfill its role for the event.
Olpak stressed that their duty as a civil society organization is to raise awareness and provide infrastructure in selected fields, saying, "As a civil society organization representing the business association, we work to convey business people's concerns, views, and support for related infrastructure to the relevant parties."
Olpak highlighted the importance of cooperation between civil society, universities, industry, and the public sector, saying, “We strive to do this from time to time. However, we all have questions regarding the adequacy of these efforts. Today, we are taking the first step toward another such effort.”
In his speech, Olpak also expressed his pleasure at organizing such an event in partnership with a high value-added institution like Türksat.
Following the speeches, the MÜSİAD delegation visited the Lagari Hasan Çelebi Museum.
